Nebraska man killed in Friday afternoon accident near Avon

Feb. 4, 2026:

A 50 year old Brunswick, NE, man died in a single vehicle crash Friday afternoon (Jan.  30, 2026, at 3:24pm), one mile southeast of Avon, SD.

Preliminary crash information indicates Isaac Wayne Ogle, the driver of a 2006 Chevy Cobalt was traveling northbound on 407th Avenue near 303rd Street. Ogle lost control of the vehicle, entered the east ditch and rolled, coming to rest in a field. Ogle was partially ejected from the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.

The Highway Patrol is an agency of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
