My name is Jason Ferro, I’m happy to be here at SOSD! I recently worked in collegiate athletics at the University of Sioux Falls handling everything from fundraising to financials to the gameday experience. I’ve played football, basketball, racquetball, and billiards while being a big football and hockey fan. I grew up in Rhode Island but have lived in Sioux Falls for most of the last 8 years. I graduated from Nichols College in Massachusetts and earned my Masters at USF. In high school I was a partner on the unified basketball team for four years and helped an athlete set the state record for points in a single game.
At USF I scheduled unified teams to play during the halftimes of our basketball games. Seeing the crowds incredibly positive reaction to the unified teams was wonderful and showed me what Special Olympics means to the state of South Dakota. I’m looking forward to being a part of all the great things happening at SOSD!
