Due to low registration numbers, there will unfortunately not be enough participants to form Baseball and Girls Softball teams this year. We did look into the possibility of combining with Selby for a joint program; however, they are experiencing the same situation and also do not have enough players to form teams. While this is disappointing, we are happy to share some positive news – there will be enough players to offer both T-Ball and Coach Pitch programs.
In an effort to increase participation and give more young children the opportunity to play, T-Ball has been expanded to include Pre-Kindergarten students. Registration forms will be sent home soon with Pre-K students. Families are asked to please complete and return these forms as soon as possible.
Additionally, we are exploring interest in a Baseball/Softball Clinic for ages 10-14. This clinic would give boys and girls the opportunity to come together, stay active, and continue developing the fundamentals of baseball and softball in a fun, supportive environment.
If there is enough interest, the clinic would likely meet twice a week in the late afternoons. There would be a $25 registration fee, and while no games would be played, the focus would be on skill development, teamwork, and simply getting kids out of the house to enjoy some summer fun.
Please keep an eye out for more information and let us know if your child would be interested in participating in the Clinic.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support of youth activities in our community. Please contact Kayla Huber, Dawn Withrow or Karson Vander Vorst with any questions!
