The 2026 Howard Wood Dakota Relays take place at the Howard Wood Field complex in Sioux Falls on Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2. More than 3,000 middle school and high school athletes participate in this, the 101st year of the event. As the Howard Wood Dakota Relays enters its second century, SDPB is proud to partner with the event organizers.
SDPB will livestream both days of the event on SDPB’s website at SDPB.org/DakotaRelays and on SDPB’s YouTube channel. SDPB will stream all track and field events throughout the two days.
Friday’s action will begin at 1:00 pm Central, noon Mountain, and Saturday’s events start at 9 am Central, 8:00 am Mountain. The special events at this year’s Howard Wood Dakota Relays are the Boys 200m dash and Girls 800m run. Both of those races take place on Friday evening.
On Saturday around noon, the South Dakota Air National Guard will present a fly-over. SDPB is proud to partner with the Howard Wood Dakota Relay’s to bring this year’s event to a statewide audience. More information about the 101st Howard Wood Dakota Relays is available at DakotaRelays.com.
