City of Pierre to begin mosquito fogging tonight

The City of Pierre Parks crew will begin mosquito fogging operations tonight (July 16, 2026) after 9:30 p.m. in response to increased mosquito activity reported in parks and athletic fields throughout the community.

Mosquito fogging helps reduce the adult mosquito population, making outdoor spaces more comfortable for residents and visitors during peak mosquito season. Fogging is completed during the evening hours when mosquitoes are most active and park use is lower.

Thanks for your patience as our crews work to cut down on mosquitoes and make our parks and outdoor spaces more enjoyable this summer.
