Water use restriction goes into effect at 10pm Monday in Fort Pierre; Mni Wiconi needs to replace a water valve

The City of Fort Pierre is putting a water use restriction into effect for all water customers, beginning at 10pm Monday (July 6, 2026). The restriction remains in effect until further notice.

Mni Wiconi will be replacing a valve on their service line. While the work is being done, the line bringing water into town will be shut off and Fort Pierre will be using water from its storage tank until the valve is replaced and the line is turned back on.

Fort Pierre water system users are asked to limit all lawn watering and unnecessary water usage until the water use restriction is lifted.
