(Pierre, SD) — Two of four constitutional amendments on the ballot in South Dakota passed on Tuesday. An amendment that disqualifies non U.S. citizens from voting in elections passed, along with the establishment of a trust fund for unclaimed property.
The amendment to require a 60-percent supermajority from voters to approve constitutional amendments failed. A fourth amendment that would have expanded Medicaid, contingent on at least 90-percent federal funding, also failed.
