YANKTON – Andrew Gordon and Ashton Griese scored twice each Sunday to lead the Oahe Capitals to a 9-2 rout of the Yankton Bucks at the Kiwanis 4-H Ice Complex. It was the second straight nine-goal game for the Capitals, who beat Yankton 9-3 on Saturday.
Gordon scored twice, once on the power play, in a four-goal first period. Elliot Leif scored and had two assists. Raef Briggs scored his team-leading eighth goal. Isaac Polak, Chris Schultz and Jaden Flor also scored for the Capitals (4-0). Carter Schulz made 37 saves.
The Capitals will next play Saturday, January 9 in their home opener against Huron at the Expo Center in Fort Pierre.
