The South Dakota Chamber of Commerce & Industry announces the recent election of Board of Director officers. Serving as Chair of the Board is Brian Sandvig, Vice President of Operations and Human Resources, Valley Queen Cheese Factory in Milbank.
In response to his election as Chair, Sandvig stated, “It is an honor to be selected to serve in a leadership role for the South Dakota Chamber. We have a top-notch board of directors and amazing staff. Now more than ever, we need to leverage South Dakota’s business-friendly tax and regulatory environment to support economic growth across our great State.”
State Chamber President David Owen stated, “The South Dakota Chamber of Commerce & Industry has the most diverse types of businesses as members and is proud to have a Board of Directors that is made up of proven leaders in communities across South Dakota; people who are accomplished and successful in their industries. Brian Sandvig is a proven leader in one of the State’s key industries which gives him insights into the intricacies of supply chains and how public policy can impact every business.”
Brian Sandvig is the VP of Operations and Human Resources at Valley Queen Cheese Factory, in Milbank, South Dakota. In 2018, he transitioned into his current role after serving 12 years as Valley Queen’s CFO. Brian serves on the following community boards: South Dakota Chamber of Commerce and Industry, South Dakota State Historical Society, South Dakota Junior Achievement, Grant County Economic Development Corp., Milbank Parks and Rec, and Lake Area Technical Institute Strategic Advisory Council. He teaches Sunday School at Living Word Lutheran Church and is an Assistant Coach on the Milbank High School Football team.
Brian is a graduate of Aberdeen Central High School and the University of North Dakota. He joined Valley Queen in 2007 after 10 years as a banker to dairies, farmers, and agribusinesses. Brian and his wife, Janel, live in Milbank, South Dakota, and have three children, Jacob, Jack and Ella.
