South Dakota soil moisture rated mainly short to adequate

For the week ending January 3, 2021, topsoil moisture supplies rated 21% very short, 38% short, 41% adequate, and 0% surplus, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.

Subsoil moisture supplies rated 23% very short, 40% short, 37% adequate and 0% surplus.

Field Crops Report:

Winter wheat condition rated 1% very poor, 7% poor, 55% fair, 36% good, and 1% excellent.
