Commissioner Cain took a moment to introduce himself.

and Amanda Silbernagel was sworn in to that office by appointment.
Jim Houck was elected Commission Chairperson for 2021 and Scott Schilling was elected
commission vice-chairperson.
Appointments to positions on county boards were tabled to the next meeting.
The commission authorized the publication of the complete list of salaries of all officers and
employees. They also approved motions to establish election officials fees, fees allowed by the
funeral director, and salaries of elected officials.
Sheriff Josh Boll will hire two more transport officers with the approval of a motion to adopt a
resolution establishing the number and compensation of the Sheriff’s Department. State’s
Attorney Hare read the entire resolution.
Commissioner Cain told the board that a 2017 adoption to the county personnel policy regarding
the re-hiring of individuals does not apply to elected officials and who they hire.
Cain also mentioned state law as it applies to reimbursement for meals for the transport officers
on the road.
Also at the meeting Highway Superintendent Gary Byre brought up discussion on possible road
construction for a new residence near Lake Hiddenwood. The board gave the him the go-ahead
