WATERTOWN – Watertown rallied from 10 points down to defeat the Pierre Governors in an ESD wrestling dual Thursday at the Watertown Civic Arena, 33-32.
Watertown had five straight match wins to turn a 22-12 deficit into a 33-22 lead. Pierre (6-2, 1-1 ESD) still could have won the dual if Regan Bollweg and Preston Taylor could have won by fall in the last two matches. Taylor did have a pin, but Bollweg won by a major decision, leaving the Governors one point short. Taylor, Nate Williams, Blake Judson and Hayden Shaffer all won by fall.
The Governors will complete Saturday in the West Central Invitational in Hartford, then have their next ESD dual Friday, January 15 in Huron.
