At Thursday’s Walworth County Commission meeting, Kevin Holgard took his oath as a commissioner because he had been absent at the last meeting.
Commission Chairman Jim Houck announced the list of 2021 board appointments.
After discussion on whether to hire a new Extension secretary, a motion was passed to hire someone for twenty hours per week. Interview will be held in executive session at the February 2nd meeting.
The commission approved the Memorandum of Understanding with SDSU.
Commissioner Holgard was appointed county official to authorize payment of state fire support.
The commission approved using current land values on properties to split up the poor lien amounts by percentages to each owner.
They also approved adding $30 to granted permits of occupied public rights of way to cover filing fees. Gravel will increase to $280 and asphalt to $530.
A motion passed to approve advertising changes to the 2021 sheriff and jail budgets due to the changes from jail to transport.
A motion was passed to publish in the minutes changes to contingency transfers in the amount of $628.53.
