Funeral Services for Tracey Many Wounds age 63 of Fort Yates, ND will be at 11 AM, CT on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Fort Yates, ND. Burial will be in Church Cemtery under direction of Oster Funeral Home of Mobridge, SD. There will be a viewing from 9 to 10 AM, CT on Tuesday, February 9, 2020 at the Long Solider District Building in Fort Yates, ND. Tracey entered the Spirit World at her home in Fort Yates, ND. Oster Funeral Home is entrusted with services for Tracey Many Wounds.

Our beautiful sister Tracey Lee was born in Oakland, CA to Perry and Carmelita (White Cloud)
Manywounds. She was very talented at a young age, winning the state science while attending
parochial school in Sioux City, IA. during which time she was first-chair clarinet. Before moving
home to Standing Rock in 1972. She graduated from Fort Yates High
in 1975, she received her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice in 1983 from the University of
South Dakota and a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Mary in
2000.
Tracey met her lifelong friend Sam Castaway 1984 and they were married in a traditional
ceremony in 2008. She is survived by her sons Daniel Manywounds Sr, Trace Manywounds and
Daniel Manywounds Jr and Adopted son Hans Bradley. Brother: William Manywounds,
sisters: Marie Manywounds and Anita Manywounds, Hunka sister Marilee Bailey. Lois Looking
Horse, Althea White Temple, Melissa White Temple. Aunt Victoria Ireland. Loretta Loans
Arrow. Nieces, Kayla Looking Horse-Smith, Karmin Manywounds, Kuyamawani Delarosa,
Krystal Lookinghorse- Benton, Tonia Jo Hall, Sherree Good Left, Antoinette and Bonita
Waseskuk, Skylynn white Cloud, leslie White Cloud, Kim Walking Hawk and Waniyetu White
Temple. Nephews: William Manywounds Jr. Ivan Looking horse Jr, AJ White Cloud, William
Manywounds Jr. and 30 grand children.

In 1979, at the age of 21 Tracey moved to “The Big Apple” to work for the International Indian
Treaty council in New York, NY, Returning home to work for the BIA Social Services, HEW
Manager SRST, CPS Director SRST and Contracting officer SRST.
Our Loving Sister, Mom, Grandma, Auntie, and Friend was dedicated to being a virtuous person
first and foremost. Her sense of humor brought laughter and joy to all those around her. She
loved to make beadwork, geometric designs, and crafting her christmas decorations for her
favorite holiday. You would always find her at home sitting at the kitchen table beading
something for her grandsons. She enjoyed reading for hours, watching classic movies,
Christmas shows, especially Perry Mason. She was an Activist and Avid supporter of NO DAPL,
Oceti sakowin camp, AIM, and MMIW. She was most happy attending pow wows to enjoy
dancing with her grandsons. Recently she started preparing herself to dance in the circle again
with her family. She adored and embraced every moment with her sons and her siblings. She
was very generous, kind hearted, and will be missed greatly.
