Eva Cagnones took the Oath of Office as County Auditor at Tuesday’s (March 2nd) meeting of Walworth County Commission.
The commissioners passed motions to remove the former county auditor from banking access at BankWest; give Cagnones a user name and password and make her the banking point of contact; and also give Deputy Auditor Marcie Keller full banking access with her own user name and password, in compliance with state law.
The commission enacted a burn ban, effective immediately. State’s Attorney James Hare read the resolution.
After some discussion with Commissioner Kevin Holgard questioning the need for adding 200 hours of overtime, the Sheriff’s 2021 supplemental budget was approved on a 3 to 2 roll call vote. Commissioner Duane Mohr commented.
The commissioners also approved motions to terminate the Landfill Supervisor effective immediately, and create the position of Landfill Bookkeeper. Another motion to advertise for a landfill supervisor or book keeper position was approved. All of these motions passed on 3 to 2 votes.
