An animal rescue organization in Pierre has received a sizable donation from a country music star’s foundation.
Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation and Tractor Supply Company teamed up and surprised one animal rescue in each of the 50 states with a $5000 donation and the Hopeless to Homes Animal Rescue is the recipient in South Dakota. There is no application process, so each state’s selected organization is surprised with the grant. Since the initiative’s inception, MuttNation’s Mutts Across America has supported more than 350 shelters with over $1.25 million in grants.
President of Hopeless to Homes Animal Rescue Lacey Boxley said, “It is such a surreal feeling that my one dream, a dream that felt unreachable when initially thought of, has turned into this amazing family with hundreds of lives saved! We are small, but we strive to do the best we can with what we have and are humbled by this incredible gift! There are no words for our gratitude! We want to say a big thank you to Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation and Tractor Supply Company for this incredible honor! We are beyond grateful!”
The mission of Hopeless to Homes Animal Shelter is that we strive to provide veterinary care and shelter to abused, neglected and homeless pets and assist them with their journey to finding their forever homes.
