So my family jokes that my mouth is the most expensive part of my body… which is so true! My parents put a ton of money into my mouth. I had braces for four years, retainers still, my wisdom teeth pulled and I was born without an adult tooth. When I was 21 I had to have that tooth pulled and an implant put in because it’s one of my front teeth. That wasn’t cheap! My parents also took me to one of the top oral surgeons in Denver because they wanted it done right, which I’m grateful for because most folks don’t even notice until I point it out! I still wear my retainers every night. I had the goal of being a TV anchor, so I’ve always put extra care into keeping my teeth looking good because in that industry your image is everything.
According to The Guardian, having good teeth is way more important today than having the perfect body. More folks are willing to spend money on their teeth than getting body parts fixed. I’m not a superficial person. Looks don’t really matter to me when it comes to dating, but a nice smile is defiantly a plus. There are so many whitening toothpaste and products that you can get online now, taking care of your smile has never been easier. It’s really nice to see society shift away from the perfect body and be more worried about their mouths.
