Once again… I’ve learned more about adulting from the internet than I have from school. I read this article this morning and was like… “No Way!” Why isn’t this information common knowledge… or is someone just trying to tick me? It could be the latter of the two for sure!
According to Spectrum News, you are supposed the change the direction your ceiling fan turns based on the season. They claim that the shape of the blade determines the function and airflow. Apparently, you should have your fan turning clockwise during the winter because it will pull the cold air from the ground to the warm air in the air. The two combined to warm you up. That means in the spring and summer you should have your fan going counterclockwise. That way the fan will push the cold air down and cool you down when it is super hot outside.
I’m semi handy… yeah we’ll go with that! But, I have no idea where to even start when it comes to changing the direction of a fan. I have this strange feeling that you have to take some parts off. maybe flip a switch inside the fan. Or rewire it? Can you do this alone? Do you have to call someone? This is a question for an electrician. I texted two of my friends that are electricians and asked them. One of them responded… really you are asking this question? He also said, I should leave that to the experts…. he doesn’t believe in my handy abilities. The other hasn’t answered. I’m not sure if this is a dumb question or not. But the internet said we should do it… So maybe we should just figure this out together!
