Avera St. Mary’s Hospital in Pierre has awarded Build Dakota scholarships to six students pursuing a career in health care.
The scholarships will support tuition, fees, books and other required program expenses in the eligible technical institute programs.
After completing their educational program, the Avera St. Mary’s Hospital Dakota Build Scholarship recipients will be eligible to apply for open positions in their area of education. If offered a position, recipients will be required to work in their position for three years to fulfill the scholarship requirements.
The Avera St. Mary’s Build Dakota Scholarship recipients are:
- Carly Oakland of Pierre, S.D. – Medical Laboratory Technology, Mitchell Technical Institute
- Mackenzie Springer of Murdo, S.D. – Surgical Technology, Southeast Technical Institute
- Alexandria Thomas of Clark, S.D. – Licensed Practical Nursing, Lake Area Technical Institute
- Erin Landegent of Clark, S.D. – Registered Nursing, Lake Area Technical Institute
- Kimberly Eide of Watertown, S.D. – Registered Nursing, Lake Area Technical Institute
- Paige Rogge of Watertown, S.D. – Licensed Practical Nursing, Lake Area Technical Institute
The Build Dakota Scholarship Fund partnered with Avera St. Mary’s Hospital to offer scholarships to students who pursue degrees in high demand health care positions.
