Bronze statues of former Governors Sheldon, Crawford and Gunderson to be unveiled tomorrow in Pierre

Three new statues for the Trail of Governors will be unveiled tomorrow (Fri.) at 10am at the State Capitol Rotunda in Pierre.

Trail of Governors Foundation Board member Leroy Foster says this year’s bronze statues depict Governors Charles Sheldon (2nd), Coe Crawford (6) and Carl Gunderson (11).

Foster says with the addition of these three statues, the Trail of Governor’s is almost complete.

This year’s bronze statues had been scheduled to be unveiled last year, but the event was canceled because of the pandemic.
