PIERRE – Post 8 Legion Baseball extended its winning streak to seven games Tuesday with two wins at Hyde Stadium, 5-4 over Aberdeen and 8-0 over Sturgis.
The Eights trailed Aberdeen 4-3 heading into the bottom of the seventh. Jack Van Camp led off with a walk, then Aaron Booth singled and Brecken Krueger had a bunt single. After an out, Jayden Wiebe’s two-run single brought in Booth and Van Camp to give Post 8 the win. Bennett Dean had a two-run single in a three-run first inning.
Gary Nedved had a two-run single to cap a five-run fourth inning that gave Post 8 (9-5) a 7-0 lead over Sturgis. Andy Gordon, Maguire Raske, Matthew Hanson and Dean also drove in runs. Isaac Polak pitched a two-hit shutout with five strikeouts.
Post 8 will play a doubleheader Wednesday against Post 22 at Fitzgerald Stadium in Rapid City.
