So last weekend I got an epic sunburn from my softball tournament. I put sunscreen on three times, but it didn’t do anything. With it being so hot all across the country the past few days, a lot of folks have been Googling how to treat sunburns. MedicalNews Today, AAD, and Women’s Health have all done articles on how to treat sunburn, and here are some of the tips and tricks they said to do!
- Use Aloe- I’ve done this my whole life and it helps a ton. When I was little I would ask my mom for the “blue stuff,” to help cool my sunburns.
- Shaving Cream- The article says it won’t make the sunburn disappear, but it will help decrease the inflammation which will decrease the pain.
- Non-oil-based location- It won’t fix it right away, but if you do moistures, you won’t peel as bad later down the road.
- Coconut oil- It does help, but if you put it on right away, it’ll trap in the heat and it will hurt. This is one of those you have to wait a few days before doing.
- Vinegar- This might work, but the experts say probably not. Vinegar is acidic which means it’ll probably cause burning instead of healing.
