A lot of colleges require internships to graduate. My college didn’t, but having one under your belt helped get me a job. I was lucky enough to be the Sports intern for a TV station in Omaha, Nebraska during the College World Series and Olympic Swim Trials five years ago. I had an amazing experience. Don’t get me wrong, I get one thing blamed on me, but I did it. I was pulling a prank on a reporter that asked me to help him edit his news story and put some star animation between clips. The reporter didn’t check it before sending it to production. Two minutes before it aired they got on the intercom and asked me to fix it. Everyone thought it was funny, but I defiantly crossed a line. My prank was caught.
This weekend, HBO Max took to Twitter to apologize for an email that was sent out to subscribers on accident. They claim the intern accidentally sent it out. In their Tweet, they said it was the intern and they are supporting them through it. This got the internet buzzing about internship experiences. We would love to hear about yours. As I said, I would totally go back and do my internship a million times over. I had so much fun that summer and learned so much!
We mistakenly sent out an empty test email to a portion of our HBO Max mailing list this evening. We apologize for the inconvenience, and as the jokes pile in, yes, it was the intern. No, really. And we’re helping them through it. ❤️
