A 19-year-old Pierre woman faces charges after attempting to shoplift from a business yesterday (Mon.) evening.
According to the Pierre Police Department, officers were called to the 600 block of West Sioux Avenue because a female was attempting to shoplift a bottle of water from the merchant.
When officers arrived, they were given a description of the suspect, who had left the premises. A woman matching the description was located by an officer a short distance away. When the officer attempted to make contact, the suspect—Bailey Storrs– fled. Officers told Storrs to stop, but she continued to flee. She was later apprehended in the 600 block of East Dakota Avenue and detained.
Storrs was ultimately arrested for Obstructing an Officer and Underage Consumption of Alcohol. She was taken to the Hughes County Jail.
