The Oahe Family YMCA in Pierre is taking steps to begin phase 1 of a multi-phase expansion project.
CEO Aaron Fabel says membership at the YMCA has grown, so the facility needs more space.
He says the expansion project starts July 9 and should be completed within a year.
Fabel says the Oahe Family YMCA will self fund the phase 1 expansion.
Cost of the expansion is estimated at a little over $800-thousand.
