A 30-year-old Fort Thompson, South Dakota, man convicted of Assaulting, Resisting and Impeding a Federal Officer was sentenced to six months in federal prison, followed by two years of supervised release.
Casey World Turner pled guilty in April.
The conviction stems from an incident in January (19, 2018) when a BIA Law Enforcement officer was dispatched to a residence in Fort Thompson. As the officer attempted to secure the suspect in wrist restraints, World Turner began resisting. The defendant continued to wrestle and resist until another officer arrived and helped subdue World Turner.
World Turner was immediately turned over to the custody of the US Marshals Service.
