Three people died Thursday evening (5:30pm) in a one-vehicle crash in Sioux Falls.
Names of the people involved are not yet being released pending notification of family members.
Preliminary information indicates that a 2010 Mazda3 was northbound on Interstate 229 when it left the roadway to the right, hit a tree and caught on fire. The male driver and the two female passengers were both pronounced dead at the scene. Seat belt use is under investigation.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is in charge of the investigation. All information is preliminary at this time.
