The Mobridge City Council held a special meeting Tuesday (August 31st) and approved ordinances on “the definition of cannabis dispensaries”, “restrictive zoning”, and “licensing provisions”. Regarding the ordinance on licensing provisions, Councilman Brent Kemnitz made a motion to amend the licensing application fee.
The motion to raise the cannabis licensing fee was approved, with one dissenting vote from Councilwoman Jade Mound. Mound then voted “no” on the amended ordinance, which was also approved by the council.
Under new business, the council approved the purchase of a plow truck for the street department at a cost of $40,000.00.
The first reading of the Annual Appropriations Ordinance was approved, with Finance Officer Heather Beck commenting on the city’s budgets.
