A school, a boutique and a credit union were picked as the winning entries in the 18th annual Pierre Parade of Lights last (Mon.) evening.
The Pierre Indian Learning Center won first place and $100 Pierre Pride Dollars; Wild Prairie Rose, second place, getting $75 Pierre Pride Dollars; and Oahe Federal Credit Union won third place, earning $50 Pierre Pride Dollars.
The Griswold Award was given to South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks. The Mayor’s Choice Award went to Oahe Speedway and the People’s Choice award went to Fischer Rounds. Each of these participants gets $50 Pierre Pride Dollars.
Holiday activities continue in the Pierre and Fort Pierre area tonight with the Grand Tree Lighting Ceremony in the State Capitol Rotunda. The ceremony starts at 7pm. Then on Friday is Fort Pierre’s Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration from 4-8pm at the Pat Duffy Community Center.
