Clarence passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo.
Clarence Glen Wipf was born on August 13, 1980, at Ellendale, ND, to Jackie and Malena Wipf. He is one of 8 children, Jake, (Clarence), Kurt, Mariyln, Thomas, Dennis, Lynette, and Kevin.
He grew up at Sundale Colony. He worked closely with his dad in the carpentry shop, learning the trade, which led to a life-long career in construction.
At age 18, he left his parents’ home and moved to the Sioux Falls, SD area and worked construction there.
In 2000, Clarence was working for Dakota Steel in Canton, SD for Leonard Decker, (Judy’s uncle), where Judy met Clarence. They were married July 13, 2002.
They bought their first home in Mobridge. In 2004, they were blessed with their first child, Conner. While in Mobridge, Clarence started Quality Construction and did a lot of sub-contract work for his father-in-law, Clarence Wipf. (Yes, they had the same name 🙂 In 2005, Clarence and Judy with baby Conner moved to Harrisburg, SD where he continued his construction work. In 2007, Kennadie was born. They bought a new home that same year, where their other children Melanie (2008), Anna Lynn (2011) and Joe (2013) were born.
Clarence loved his children and being a dad. He loved giving them what they wanted, whether it was treats, toys, or pets.
In 2018 Clarence, Judy and kids moved to Mobridge. As his health would allow, he continued his construction work. In the past year, his health continued to decline and he could no longer work. He had been at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND since September 1st, where passed away in peace on Saturday, September 25, surrounded by his family.
Clarence was a very private person, and was not big on sharing what was in his heart. But he communicated his heart through the song “Why me, Lord” (specifically sung by Kris Kristofferson), through which he understood his need for his Savior, Jesus Christ. So it is with confidence we believe that he is spending eternity with Jesus. He is very much loved by his wife and children. He will be remembered for his kindness, gentleness and love.
