This week’s Feel Good Friday stories…
1. There’s an ongoing school bus driver shortage. So a dad in Columbus, Ohio named Sean Rogers Jr. took matters into his own hands . . . and started taking kids to school in a STRETCH LIMO. His dad owns a limousine service, so he borrowed one. He took 25 kids to school last Monday, and 42 on Tuesday.
2. A 19-year-old cat named Gus got dropped off at a Humane Society in North Carolina last month, and they didn’t think anyone would adopt him. But then a family who was looking for an older cat called . . . because they needed a companion for their 101-year-old mother. The head of the shelter called it a “match made in Heaven.”
3. A guy in Kansas just got his wallet back . . . almost 50 YEARS after he lost it. It went missing in the early ’70s, and someone just turned it in. His driver’s license was still inside. But unfortunately, it expired in 1974.
4. There’s a restaurant in Fort Worth, Texas called Taste Community that’s donation based. You pay whatever you can afford, so people who are struggling can always get a free meal. But other people pay extra, because they want to support the place. It opened in 2017, but it’s in the news now because they just served their 100,000th meal.
5. A guy in Brazil says his cell phone saved his life last Thursday . . . when it stopped a BULLET during an armed robbery. He posted some photos of the phone. And the case it was in happened to have a picture of The Hulk on it.
6. A new study found that gratitude is the most common positive emotion we feel. 87% of Americans said they feel grateful in general. 85% also said happy, and 75% said they’re optimistic.
7. I don’t know if I’m happier for this guy, or for his new wife: A 60-year-old truck driver in North Carolina named Michael Abernathy got married on October 2nd. Then four days later, he bought a scratch-off ticket . . . and hit the lottery for a million bucks.
