Angus breeders from Colome, Ideal, Harrold among Top 10 South Dakota producers registering the most animals

The 10 producers who registered the most Angus beef cattle in the state of South Dakota recorded a total of 4773 Angus with the American Angus Association® during fiscal year 2021, which ended Sept. 30, 2021, according to Mark McCully, Association chief executive officer.

The 10 top recorders in South Dakota are:

1. Raven Angus, Colome;
2. Jorgensen Ranches, Ideal;
3. Blair Bros Angus, Sturgis;
4. Mogck & Sons, Olivet;
5. Thomas Ranch, Harrold;
6. Grandview Angus, Rapid City;
7. Mohnen Angus Farms, White Lake;
8. Hart Angus Farms, Frederick;
9. Vern Edward Koupal, Dante;
10. Maher Angus Ranch, Morristown.

Angus breeders across the nation in 2021 registered 313,138 head of Angus cattle.

“Our Association members lead the industry in adopting new technology and breeding the most problem-free cattle for their customers,” McCully said. “Cattlemen across the country continue to find registered Angus seedstock are the most profitable option for their herd.”
