Today (Nov. 14, 2021) is the final day of the Karl’s, Pierre Area Referral Service and DRG Media Group Hunger Heroes food drive.
Please drop off your non-perishable food donations at the Karl’s store (1615 North Harrison Ave Suite 3) at its new location in the Northridge Plaza in Pierre.
PARS executive director Corwin Jones they can currently use “things that go with things.” Some examples he gives are:

macaroni and cheese
-
ramen noodles
-
boxed meal kits
-
they have peanut butter, but could use jelly
PARS asks that donations be unopened and not expired. If you’d use it at your home, it’s something PARS can use when packing boxes for their clients.
Karl’s in Pierre is open until 5pm today.
PARS is also currently accepting monetary donations for holiday meals and they can use volunteers to ring bells during the holiday season.
Food banks across the USA have been dealing with increased demand from those who have lost income because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, they’re also faced with the challenge of surging food prices and supply chain issues.
