HIGHMORE – Stanley County and Highmore-Harrold split a varsity basketball doubleheader Tuesday at the Hyde County Memorial Auditorium. Highmore-Harrold took a 52-22 win in the girls’ game, with the Stanley County boys winning 49-28.
Letha Jessen led the Highmore-Harrold girls (4-2) with 22 points. Grace Knox added 11. Jordyn Sosa scored eight, all in the first half, for Stanley County (1-5). SC led 15-13 in the second quarter, then was held scoreless until the fourth quarter.
In the boys’ game, Stanley County (4-1) was paced by Lathan Prince with 11 points and Cormac Duffy with 10. Stran Scott scored nine. Carter LaMont scored eight for Highmore-Harrold (1-3).
Both Stanley County teams will play Thursday at McLaughlin.
