Starting tomorrow (May 7), manhole rehabilitation work will impact the approaches to Black Hills Drive and Walmart off of Garfield Avenue in Pierre.
Black Hills Drive will remain open, but both inbound and outbound traffic approach lanes will be narrowed to accommodate construction activities. Walmart’s west entrance will remain open to inbound traffic only. All outbound traffic must exit onto Airport Road on the north side of the store.
The rehab work will consist of removal of the existing surfacing, demolition/removal of deteriorated manhole cone sections, installation of the fiberglass liner, placement of structural concrete, back filling and restoration of surfacing.
Work is expected to last until May 17.
