Millions of youth, parents, volunteers and alumni across the country are celebrating everything 4-H as they celebrate National 4-H Week this week.
The theme this year is “Inspire Kids to Do,” which highlights how 4-H encourages kids to take part in hands-on learning experiences in areas such as agriculture, health & wellness, leadership and science.
SDSU Extension State 4-H Program Director Dr. Timothy Tanner says from projects large to small, 4-H is a place for all youth who are ‘inspired to do.’
South Dakota 4-H members, clubs and counties are participating in these ‘days of doing’ this week:
1. Monday, October 6 – Inspired to Serve – #InspiredToServe
2. Tuesday, October 7 – Inspired to go GREEN! – #InspiredToGoGREEN
3. Wednesday, October 8 – Inspired to Lead – #InspiredToLead
4. Thursday, October 9 – Inspired to Grow – #InspiredToGrow
5. Friday, October 10 – Inspired to Create – #InspiredToCreate
Participants are asked to promote their efforts on social media using the assigned hashtags and by tagging South Dakota 4-H on Facebook (@South Dakota 4-H), Twitter (@SDSUExt4H) and Instagram (@sdsuext4h).
In South Dakota, more than 9,200 4-H youth and 2,500 youth and adult volunteers from across the state are involved in 4-H and youth efforts. To learn more about how you can make an impact with South Dakota 4-H, visit https://extension.sdstate.edu/south-dakota-4-h.
