PIERRE – Late-season improvement continued for Pierre Governors Boys Basketball Friday as Lincoln Kienholz made history.
Kienholz scored 35 and became the seventh 1,000-point scorer in program history as Pierre survived a second-half comeback by Watertown to beat the Arrows 72-65 at the Riggs High Gym.
Kienholz made his thousandth point on a fourth-quarter free throw.
Jett Zabel scored 12 points with nine rebounds for the Governors (9-9) and Matthew Hanson also scored 12.
Drew Norberg scored 31 for Watertown, who rallied from an 18-point deficit in the third quarter to tie the game at 61 before an 11-4 run by Pierre ended the game.
