Judge John Brown is in his final days of serving on the 6th Circuit Court in South Dakota.
Along with the usual court cases, Judge Brown has been an avid supporter of the 6th Circuit Drug/DUI Court program.
He says participation is voluntary, but people must apply and be approved to go through the program.
Brown says the average participant takes 18 months to go through the program.
A graduation ceremony was held earlier this month for the 70th person to successfully complete the 6th Circuit Drug/DUI Court program, which has been an option in Hughes and Stanley counties for about ten years.
Brown retires next month after 11 years as a judge.
