PIERRE, SD – Albert Kenneth Twiggs was born June 23, 1949 in Pierre, SD to Vernon Jess and Ruth Maggie (Yellow Cloud) Twiggs.
Kenny grew up and attended school in Pierre. Following high school, he was in the military for a short time and went to college at Black Hills State and Northern State. He was on the Dean’s List and excelled in mathematics. As a kid he taught himself to play the guitar and was in a band called the “Forgotten Americans” with his best friends, Lenny and Monty Granados. He worked at the meat processing plant in Huron, SD and he was a laborer at various other jobs throughout his life. Late in life, while living in the senior care in Highmore, SD he enjoyed playing his acoustic guitar for the other residence at the facility.
He is survived by his children, Joanna Eagle Chasing of Yankton, SD, Cicely Twiggs, Waylon “Chubbs” Twiggs and Arthur Lee Twiggs all of Pierre, SD; the mother of his children, Louise Picotte; three sisters, Joanne Beare of Rapid City, SD, Alice Iron of Two Strike, SD and Laura (Bud Ree) Twiggs of Aberdeen, SD, 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Kenny will join his parents; daughter Melanie Twiggs; grand daughter Sydney Twiggs Lindbloom; Great grandson Mateo Tuberquia; sister, Verna Boyles; special brother-in-law, Victor Boyles; brother, Clyde Twiggs; sister, Karen Twiggs; brother, Frank Twiggs; paternal grandparents, Jess and Emma Twiggs and maternal grandparents, Jess and Grace Yellow Cloud in his Heavenly home.
