Albert Thomas “Kingworm” Red Fox was born on October 10, 1953, at the Old Cheyenne Agency, SD, to Harry and Audrey (Sand) Howard Red Fox. He grew up in the Old Agency and Eagle Butte area and attended school in Old Cheyenne and Eagle Butte.
Kingworm was the youngest boy in the family and lived life in his own joyful and unique way. He loved to have a good time.
He worked many years for the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe as a court processor and bailiff, where he made countless friends along the way. He and his older brother, Edward Red Fox, who served as a police officer, loved to go out dancing on the weekends. Kingworm was well-known for his signature “worm dance,” and together the brothers collected plenty of tips performing at local bars.
Albert shared his life with his special friend, Maxine Brings Plenty. Although he never had children of his own, he cherished his nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as though they were his. Family gatherings and holidays were especially meaningful to him — a time for food, laughter, and simply being together. He enjoyed his dogs as well, especially Chiwawa’s
He also loved attending the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally each year, making sure he never missed the chance to grab a new T-shirt and enjoy the excitement of the event.
