Anita Rose (Obago) Koster was born October 24, 1959 in Chamberlain, SD to Francis and Flavia (Thick Hair) Obago. Anita began her journey to the Spirit World on October 24, 2021 in the comfort of her home.
Anita attended school at Crow Creek and some years later she completed her schooling by getting her GED while working for Headstart. On December 17, 1976, Anita was united in marriage to Pat Koster Sr. She spent most of her life living in Fort Thompson, SD except during a brief time she lived in California. Her jobs consisted of many years at Lynn’s Dakota Mart, Lode Star Casino, and on and off at Headstart and Early Headstart.
Anita enjoyed coloring, fixing puzzles, playing Yahtzee “Sleepy Dice” as Pat called it, going on motorcycle rides with her husband and friends. Most of all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her family.
Anita’s memory continues to live on through her husband Pat Koster Sr., daughters Amber and Janelle Koster, sons Jim (Jera) Koster and Pat Koster Jr., all of her grandchildren – too many to list, her brothers Lester Obago, Lorenzo “Lo” Obago, and David Obago.
Preceding her in death were her grandparents Benedict and Susan Wind, parents Francis and Flavia Obago, mother-in-law Rosie Koster, daughter Janet Koster, sisters Agatha “Aggie” Obago, Viola “Vi” Obago, Barbara “Barb” Ross, Ethelreda “Reda” Bad Moccasin, brothers Madrid Roberts and Alan Ashes, nieces Lisa Comes Flying (Owens) and Lorna Amiotte, nephews Lester “Cheeks” Obago Jr., Derek Ross, Russle Obago, Doug Grey Owl, and Raynerd Bad Moccasin, and granddaughter Arianna Obago.
Anita was a small woman with a big heart. If anyone ever needed anything they could always turn to her as she has touched many lives and will truly be missed.
