Arnold G. Sazue, Sr., 71, aka Sunshine, passed away February 1, 2023, at his home in Lower Brule, SD. Arnold was the only child born October 8, 1951, to Sherman Sazue and Rhoda Charging Whirlwind in Lower Brule, SD. He graduated from Winslow High School, then joined the U.S. Military, United States Marine Corps (USMC), in 975 as an Aviation Mechanic
He met and married his beloved and beautiful bride and wife of 48 years, Teri Sazue, in Winslow, AZ, while serving the community as a police officer.
Arnold continued serving as a police officer upon his return to his hometown, the Lower Brule community, where he also had a career as an EMT/Hospital Aid, Land Surveyor, and Water Plant Operator. Apart from work, Arnold enjoyed spending time with his wife and grandchildren. He loved to go fishing, bowling, and repairing various projects as his hobby.
Arnold was a man of few words but a heart big as a mountain. He was a man of integrity, esteemed for his work values and ethical principles.. He showed compassion to all, and consideration to many. His smile and laughter would fill the room, but it was his wife who illuminated his smile; they were two peas in a pod. He was an inspiring role model to his children, imparting gentle wisdom, and never lacking the abundant measure of what life holds by leading the exemplary example.. Our heavenly Father has called home a wonderful man who will be dearly and forever missed by his wife and family.
Arnold is survived by his loving wife, Teri; daughters, Cynthia Quoshena, Shevaun Sazue, Amy Quoshena; sons, Perfecto Cronemeyer, Arnold (Gene) Sazue, Jr, Shaun Sazue, and Brian Sazue; grandchildren, Daniel Neikirk-Quoshena, Gabriel Quoshena, Selecia (Sia) Fletcher, Sage Fletcher, Alexander (Alex) Cronemeyer, Kailey Cronemeyer, Miranda Cronemeyer, Cerrina Balfour, Colin Hamilton, Nathaniel (Nate) Flute, Deja Sazue, Malaina Sazue, Trinity Sazue, Shayla Flute, Aiden Sazue, Mallory Sazue, Mya Sazue, Arnold Sazue III, and 10 great grandchildren.
His predeceased family members are Rhoda Charging Whirlwind, Deja Sazue, and Malaina Sazue.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at the Christ Episcopal Church in Chamberlain at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Iron Nation Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Perfecto, Shaun, Brian, Gene, Trinity, Aiden and Colin.
