Barbara Dee (Drury) Clements was born October 12, 1951 in Philip, South Dakota to Reed and Margaret (Peggy O’Neal) Drury. She attended school in Philip and graduated from Philip High School in 1969.
Barb married Brian Lobdell and to this union was born one son, Jared Ned. On September 24, 1977 she was united in marriage to Raymond Clements Jr. in Philip. Barb and Jr. had one son Tristan James, and they were together for almost 45 years.
Barb started working at the nursing home in Philip as a nurses aid and worked on becoming a CNA. She continued as a CNA and worked in Philip, Hot Springs, Hot Springs Veterans Home, and Belle Fourche Health Care Center. She also worked in home health and in house keeping at the state capital and as a janitor for the Jackson County Courthouse.
Of all the jobs she held the one she liked the most was being a special ed aid at Alfalfa Valley School. Her and Tara Smith would put on their parkas, get into her Volkswagon bug, and drive out to the school every day not worrying what the weather or roads were like.
The other huge highlight of her life were her grandkids and later her great-granddaughters. She followed Blake in his wrestling and Tristan’s kids in their activities for as along as she was able.
Survivors include her husband Ray “Junior” Clements of Philip; two sons Tristan (Jackie) Clements of Vale and Jared Lobdell (Amy Morrison) of Philip; six grandchildren: Blake (Bethany) Lobdell and J’Nai (Keagan) Fitch both of Philip, Tru Lobdell of Amarillo, TX, and Kelsi, Charlie, and Jorey Clements of Vale; three great-granddaughters: Braylee, Blaire, and Brooklyn Lobdell of Philip; two brothers Reed “Neal” (Becky) Drury of Rapid City and Kenneth (Deb) Drury of Philip; one sister Penny Stahl of Midland; her mother-in-law Theresa Clements; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
