Bert Edmond Lerew, 62, of Miller, passed away Monday, February 21, 2022, at his home in Miller.
Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 25, 2022, at Reck Funeral Home, Miller, with Pastor Teresa Whetsel officiating. Burial will follow at G.A.R. Cemetery, Miller.
Bert was born September 30, 1959, in Miller, South Dakota to Wilbur Lerew, Sr. and Sharle (Newman) Lerew. As a child, Bert loved shooting his gun or riding a motorcycle whenever he could. He graduated from the Miller High School in 1977.
After high school, he worked at various places including: Jack Links Beef Jerky plant in Alpena, the State Hospital in Redfield, and a pork processing plant in Iowa. He lived in Woonsocket for a time and returned to Miller about ten years ago. He worked for Wilbur Feed and Seed and Miller Tri-State Insulation.
He liked staying close to Miller, at heart he was always a small town kind of guy.
Bert is survived by his brother, Wilbur “Bill” Lerew of Rapid City; four nephews: Jeremiah, Jason, Donnie and Chad; and numerous friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald; and sister-in-law, Sheila Lerew.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Bert’s arrangements.
