Bonita was born on June 9, 1952 to William Francis Nord and Genevieve Caroline Jean Nelson in Pierre, SD. As a young woman, Bonita fell in love with Larry Reyelts. Together they raised a family that was always busy and never a dull moment.
Bonita Thomas was seen as a wonderful giving person. She gave of herself freely and was always seen as a mom by many other children that needed some extra love. As life goes, Larry and Bonita took separate paths. They always remained good friends and enjoyed getting together with the kids.
Bonita then found her true soul mate, Eugene Thomas. They married on April 1, 1989. One of Bonita’s many jobs included truck driving. She enjoyed being with the Gene, dog Princess and seeing the beauty of God’s earth. After she retired, Bonita enjoyed spending time with her family. She crocheted, colored many coloring pages, and visited friends and family in her spare time. Bonita enjoyed knowing her family tree and was very proud of all the work she did to go back many years. She even had it copied and shared it to all of her family. She also enjoyed spending time with her dog Peanut.
Survivors include her children Thomas Nord and wife Cindy of Greely, CO, Mike Goodlander of Waseca, MN, Larry Goodlander and wife Ana of Pierre, SD, Jeanette Goodlander of Pierre, SD, Benge Reyelts and wife Tanya of Brandon, SD, her sister Roberta Trygstaad and husband Robert of Aurora, CO. 14 grandchildren: Tanner, Megan (Luke), Chase, Ashley, Alex, Logan, Dawson, Mikey, Jocelyn, Kaden, Jakob, Noah, Emy and Rachel and 1 great grandchild, Analeigh. She is also survived by her many other “kids” which are too many to be named, but
they know who they are.
Bonita was preceded in death by her husband Eugene, parents William Nord and Genevieve Nelson, her brothers David Nelson and Donald Nelson as well as one grand baby gone to soon.
