On Tuesday, May 16, 2023, Lavina M. Wuger, known by her friends as Bonnie, passed away at Faulkton Senior Living.
No services will be held. The burial will take place in the Faulkton Cemetery.
Lavina Mardeen Vogeler was born in Faulkton, SD on January 2, 1931, to John and Erma (Border) Vogeler. She was the 13th of 16 children. Bonnie attended a rural country school near their farm. She worked on the family farm until she was united in marriage to Charles Wuger on January 8, 1949.
Bonnie and Charlie made their home in Faulkton where she worked for Northwestern Public Service Company until she retired. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also liked participating in community events and helping wherever she could. They owned and operated a ceramic shop where she taught classes in ceramics and painting.
Bonnie was a member of the United Methodist Church and loved her church. She served on the city council, was a member of the Historical Society, and a very active member of the local 4-H programs. She judged local and state art fairs and 4-H Achievement Days.
Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Bruce) Young of Horace, ND; daughter-in-law, Jane of Mexico MO; four grandchildren: Ryan of Newport News, VA, Darcy (Mike) Kasprick of Fargo, ND, Lynn (Eric) Rasmussen of Olathe, KS, and Daniel (Kim) of Mexico, MO; six great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charlie; son, Guy; eight sisters and seven brothers.
Luce Funeral Home of Faulkton has been entrusted with Bonnie’s arrangements.
