Brandon Matthew Bail was born May 4, 1975 to Orville and Margie (Johnson) Bail in Hettinger, ND. He lived his entire life on the family farm southeast of Morristown. He graduated McIntosh High School in 1994, and worked the family farm alongside his dad, as a third-generation farmer. He enjoyed doing custom harvesting with Woody and Shirley Penor in 1999 and with Justin Campbell in 2004. Brandon said going south on harvest crew was the best paid vacation of his life. It was hard work but fun times and truckloads of memories.
He was united in marriage to Victoria Fawn Marie Brickley in Lemmon, SD on August 20, 2011. They made their home on the family farm with Victoria’s son Gregory Bliss. Two children were born of this union, Maggie in 2010 and Matthew in 2016. Brandon and Victoria took over operation of family farm in 2015.
He enjoyed helping friends with farm work, including hauling hay, combining, and planting, as well as working cattle. Brandon was very generous with his time and talents, and comedic timing. His quick wit was legendary.
Brandon suddenly passed away on Tuesday evening, May 16, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Grateful for having shared his life, his heart, and his humor are his wife Victoria, daughter Maggie and son Matthew, step-son Gregory and step-granddaughter Delilah, Pacific City, OR, sister Barbara Bail, Lino Lakes, MN, special ‘adopted’ mom Barb Campbell, mother-in-law and brothers-in-law, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Margie Bail, and his father-in-law, Richard Brickley.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
