Funeral services for Brandon Hand Boy, 41, of Eagle Butte will be at 10 AM, Thursday, August 22, 2024, at St. John Episcopal Church in Eagle Butte. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Episcopal Cemetery in Thunder Butte under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. A procession will leave the funeral home at 3:30 PM MT, to meet at the 4-mile at 5 PM. Wake services will be at 7PM at the church. Brandon passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Monument Health in Rapid City.

Brandon Daryl Hand Boy was born on April 30th, 1983, to Karen & George Hand Boy. Brandon attended schools in Dupree and Cheyenne Eagle Butte. Brandon was employed during the covid pandemic as security officer and then onto the elderly support program as a rez runner and briefly as a laborer for solid waste department. Brandon proudly participated in the yearly wounded knee memorial motorcycle run where he made many friends. Brandon enjoyed fishing, playing softball with the Falcons softball team as the pitcher, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles and spending time with family and friends. Brandon was our driver to appointments and trips out of town, he enjoyed family get togethers, holiday and birthday dinners. He enjoyed fixing and tinkering with his bike and his dad’s truck. Brandon excelled in sports and was known as the fastest big kid to play softball and football. Brandon was known to all his friends and family as “Bubba”.

Brandon cherished his nieces and nephews, he helped raise D’Aryn, Kacy Dee, Dakota, Jazmine and Lexi. Brandon is survived by his dad, George Hand Boy, sisters, Bobbie & Leafia. Aunt’s: Delena Hand Boy, Henrietta Elk Eagle, Althea Hand Boy, Tess Thompson, Grace Thompson, Sharon Smith, Gloria Smith, Charlene Lends His Horse, Delaura Marrowbone, Bernadine Little Thunder, Alice Leclaire, Charlene Leclaire uncle’s: Ted Marrowbone, Leonard Marrowbone Sr, George Archambault, Ben Elk Eagle, Leland Hand Boy, Murray Red Fox. Cousin/sisters: Tracy, Kelly, Deidra, Heather, Sherral, Shanelle, Chandler, Mary Jo, Cindy, Joann, Leslie, Tashina and Kalinda. Cousin/brothers: Tyler, Kason, Dalton, CJ, Kody, Jr., Mike, Leslie, Dalton, Drew, DJ Mac.

Brandon had a joyous reunion with his mama Karen, grandparents Percy & Martha Marrowbone and Mavis Hand Boy. His aunts Hilda Ducheneaux, Delphine Marrowbone, Darlene Archambault. Uncles: Leslie P. Marrowbone, Elvis Hand Boy, Larry Hand Boy, Richard Marrowbone Sr., Tom Red Bird, Tom Ducheneaux, Lawrence Cheauma. Cousins: Wacey Grass, Colton Oliver, Richie Marrowbone.
