Cameron Ward Condon was born on January 08, 1993, in Rapid City, South Dakota, to Lisa F. Condon. When he was just a little guy, his Grandpa Chet Condon nicknamed him “Cammy John,” since then that was what he was called by his family and close friends. Cameron attended Headstart through Elementary School in Eagle Butte then moved to Bismarck, North Dakota with his mother, where he attended Wachter Middle School then Bismarck High School. Cam decided to work on completing his GED instead of completing high school and did so in February 2011. Cameron had gotten in a little bit of trouble in his late teens and came to be placed in a program called the Prairie Learning Center, this placement proved to be a very positive thing in his young life. He was always attending a meeting or seminar of some sort, which included an Adolescent Recovery Program for Drug & Alcohol Treatment, Individual Case Plans, Youthworks Independent Living, Victim Empathy Program, and a NATURE Summer Camp sponsored by United Tribes Technical College. While in the Prairie Learning Center, he worked with ranchers outside the Bismarck area, which he really enjoyed as he was outdoors riding horses and helping with cattle and other livestock. His mother said, “He really enjoyed that time in his life, my city boy, was actually a cowboy, he would put on his boots and head out the door every day.”
Cameron was a bright kid, always easy going, and he was forever by his mother’s side. Moving where she went. They lived in Sioux Falls, SD for a short time, then back to Bismarck and eventually they came home to Cheyenne River. He was very close with his brothers and his sister, his nieces & nephews meant the world to him, his cousins were like brothers & sisters to him. He made friends easily and kept lasting friendships throughout his young life. Cam always found work in the Bismarck/Mandan area, some of his jobs included working with Gullickson Siding & Gutters, Northwest Contracting as a concrete finisher, K&L Homes doing carpentry work, Central Mechanical Inc. where he was an apprentice plumber, and working as a service attendant for Wonnenberg Inc. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, reservation borders were established for the Cheyenne River reservation and Cameron was one of many CRST border patrol employees that worked day in and day out to help keep the reservation safe. He enjoyed his job working with CRST Border Patrol, met a lot of people who were traveling through the area and worked with some great people.
Cameron and Sara Wolf were married on August 21, 2020, in Eagle Butte, South Dakota. They spent some good years together and enjoyed traveling, spending time with friends and family, and making memories in their life together. Cameron was a meticulous person, he was careful and precise, doing things like keeping his own records and copies of things that were important to him. He loved spending time with others and joking and laughing, he came to know people who became life-long friends and considered most as brothers and sisters.
Cameron is survived by his wife Sara and stepchildren, Treton, Joshua, Peysyn & Peysley Red Elk, his mother, Lisa Condon, brothers Ryan Lee Marrowbone & Kayla, Dustin Marrowbone and Joseph Condon, his sister, Ashlee Ward & Wacy Weeks, of Billings, MT, nieces and nephews, Taycen & Kylie, Angel, LaReina & Baby Chet, and little Dace, who he helped his mother care for.
