Carol Diane Walker was born on February 27, 1956 in Dallas, TX to Jacob and Frieda (Vollmer) Walker. Carol was a mother, a grandmother, a sister, and a woman of faith whose silly spirit and enormous heart made the world around her a brighter, softer place.
Carol had a way of lightening every room she entered. She loved to laugh, and she loved to make others laugh even more. Her humor wasn’t just jokes; it was her natural way of seeing the world. She will always be a reminder to us that joy is not something we wait for, but something we create. That silliness was her gift to us: a reminder not to take life too seriously, even when it tried its hardest to bring us down.
But behind her playful spirit was a heart capable of extraordinary love. Carol gave without hesitation, listened without judgement, and opened her arms to anyone. She had an instinct for knowing when someone needed a warm hug or a bit of laughter to get through the day. She had a love for animals that could be seen by the attention she gave them whenever she was around them. Her big heart was not just something that people knew, it was something she lived, every single day.
As a mother, she gave love and encouragement. As a grandmother, she offered kindness, silliness, and unconditional love. She had so many friends that she shared bonds filled with memories and support. Though we feel the ache of her absence, we also feel the warmth she left us, the kind that doesn’t just fade with time.
Today we remember Carol with full hearts – grateful for her humor, her generosity, and the love she poured into everyone blessed enough to know her. May we continue to carry her spirit forward by embracing life with the same heart and joy she showed us each and every day.
May her memory always be a blessing as she is lovingly survived by her son, Joshua and wife Kelley Walker of Willow Springs, NC; grandchildren, Jensen, Bennett, and Kaysen Walker all of Willow Springs, NC; brothers, Kenny (Kathy) Walker of Selby, SD and John (Misti) Walker of Rapid City, SD; sister, Janet (Steven) Endersbee of Castle Rock, CO; nieces & nephews, Jason Walker, Shane (Karyn) Walker, Grant Walker, Jessica Walker, Amanda Brewster, Rachel Endersbee, Sarah (John) Cumbie, Nathan (Sarah) Endersbee, Dwaun Walker, and Shannon Walker; and many great nieces, great nephews, and great-great nieces and a great-great nephew.
Carol was preceded in death by the loved ones who remain forever in our hearts: her parents, Jacob & Frieda Walker; and brother, Clyde Walker.
